This has resulted in flash flooding of many headwater streams of the Dan River. Both the Smith river in Henry County, and the Sandy River in Pittsylvania county, have contributed a significant amount of local runoff to the Dan River at Danville. Minor flooding will likely occur along the Dan River in Danville. Forecasts for Paces and South Boston will be adjusted later this morning, but there will likely be significant rises on the Dan River down stream into Halifax County.
